I'm a Senior iOS Engineer based in Dubai, with a career that spans government platforms, travel tech, healthcare, payments and e-commerce. I've taken products from their first screen to production — and I mentor junior engineers and review code to keep quality high.
At Abu Dhabi Digital Authority I worked as iOS Tech Lead on TAMM, a national government services platform, mentoring a junior developer. Before that, at Digital14, I built features of ALHOSN, the UAE's official COVID-19 app used nationwide by 5M+ users. Today, at Volindo, I build map-driven itinerary and booking experiences for a Swift-based travel super-app and act as the primary iOS pull-request reviewer.
My work is grounded in modular design, testing and TDD — I care as much about a codebase's long-term health as I do about what ships this sprint.
13 years, one craft.
- Delivering iOS features for a Swift-based travel super-app spanning hotel booking, itinerary, social feed, notifications and trip companion modules, integrating gRPC/Protobuf across iOS, Android, backend, product, design and QA.
- Primary gatekeeper for iOS pull-request reviews, enforcing code quality and consistency across the team.
- Built map-driven experiences with MapKit — drag-and-drop itinerary planning, waypoint sync and real-time UI state propagation via Combine.
- Built and own the hotel booking flow: room selection, guest management, expiry timers and offline persistence with SwiftUI + Core Data.
- Developed an XMPP-based instant messaging client supporting message receipts (sent/delivered/read), typing indicators, presence tracking and rich media transfers.
- Established unit/integration coverage across untested modules using XCTest and Swift Testing, applying TDD to improve regression safety.
- Worked hands-on as an iOS engineer on TAMM, a large-scale government services platform, within a modular VIPER architecture.
- Contributed to architectural decisions on scalability and long-term maintainability of the codebase.
- Mentored a junior iOS developer through code review and technical guidance.
- Implemented biometric authentication across the Homebase workforce management app.
- Migrated a legacy Objective-C VIPER codebase to Swift MVVM-C to improve maintainability and stability.
- Built banking onboarding with Plaid SDK integration so employees can link financial accounts.
- Developed the integration of a WebRTC chat module, managing peer connection lifecycles, local persistence and background state transitions.
- Built features of ALHOSN UAE, the UAE's official COVID-19 contact-tracing app — digital signing, OAuth auth and BLE BlueTrace technology.
- Applied performance optimisation and caching strategies in an app used nationwide by 5M+ users.
- Shipped new features for the Ekar car-sharing app (IoT-enabled fleet); integrated Apple Pay via Checkout.com.
- Reduced app crash rate by 30% through targeted debugging and optimisation.
- Role ended due to COVID-19 impact on the company.
- At Quadcircles: HiPay (BLE receipt printing), iGold and 2Mummy.
